My goodness, I haven't put up a tree for at least 10 years. I don't care in the least. Too much work putting it up and taking it down and for what purpose does it serve. I have candle lights in the windows all year long. It is the thing in historical areas.
Christmas is not about a tree. It is the time of the year we celebrate God's love for us. Jesus's birth was the beginning of our redemption. His words to us, "Peace on Earth Good Will Toward Men" is the true meaning of Christmas. There is peace between God and mankind. God's judgment was placed upon Jesus. Rather than celebrate this by putting up a tree, we should go boldly before Him with praise and thankfulness.
Merry Christmas!

No need to put up a tree, decorate with only what you feel comfortable doing. You could even donate the tree you have and purchase a small one to replace it. Otherwise a wreath or some garland is a lovely way to decorate.

I bought one of those Lori G wire trees...5 ft multi color....that's it!! I got rid of almost all of my Christmas decorations a few years ago....too much work for this old lady...lol...my tree is a simple open and shut....easy to take to the basement and store....best thing I have done for myself.....
Don't let others dictate what you are comfortable doing in your own home....

Kingtut, you can only do what you are able and no one should criticize that. I don't know if you live in your own home or in an apartment, but a wreath on the door make a pretty and festive statement without being much work.

I have never seen a tree with the stand already attached. I wonder if any of the places that sell trees would have that. I wouldn't mind doing that at all.
They sell small cut trees mounted on stands at our local Kroger stores, and I've seen them at nurseries, too. I'd imagine other stores may have them. You can find the live mini potted trees many places, and you can also find tabletop-size artificial trees in many places, including most craft and home decor stores. No more mounting trees on stands for us!

Thanks Goodstuff
I will be checking out some places and see if I can find one.
