do you know about AmazonSmile?

thanks to another poster here I recently discovered AmazonSmile. I've been ordering from Amazon for several years and never knew about this before. this is from the website:

"What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. You can choose from nearly one million organizations to support."
they will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charity of your choice, and you can change your charity preference at any time.
it's an easy, automatic way to donate to your favorite charity. if you're shopping at Amazon anyway, check it out.

It sounds like a great idea. My only concern would be if my information is shared/sold to other agencies and end up on countless charity lists. We like to decide where our donations go and it's a put-off when some of these agencies call. And not all are legit.

soxfan, that's something I didn't think about but since I registered (about 2 months ago) I haven't had a call or email from any charity , not even the charity that I designated.
