I think the Amazon Echo and Dot devices are pretty cool and have one myself, but don't use it. I've heard they are relatively easy for someone to hack and gain access to your personal network. I live in a condo, with neighbors in close proximity, some of whom are tech-savvy and working from home. I may be overly-cautious, but it's one less thing to worry about.

We have many Echo devices and use them for music, news, timers, alarms and occasionally to entertain ourselves or our kids.

My sister has Alexia, and loves it. It's the big joke in her house. In my house it's a big no. Hubs feels it's intrusive and weird.

No I do not. Our TV set and Dish Network Hopper 3, both have Alexa and some other Voice Machine. I use neither.

I have an Alexa house and I love it. She turns 3 lights off/on.
`
Love her for the convenience.
`
Alexa also offers a "get help" monitor if you should "fall and can't get up!" It's nice to know it is there for you!

Cheapest safety plan available!

@Hmmmmm24 wrote:I have Echo's and Dots in almost every room. I use them mostly for timers to feed my 2 cats since I don't free-feed them. My cats are so intelligent they look at the Echo screens, the last 10 seconds before the timer goes off a white dot goes back & forth across the screen. They can be looking at it from across the room and they run towards the Echo and tap it with their paws. I also use the Echo as an alarm clock. I don't use them for ordering from Amazon, though.
The order doesn't have to be made through Alexa, I dont think anyway. I dont order through my Alexa but I can ask Alexa to track my packages etc.

@Pantsonfire2 You must be very good at fully utilizing Alexa. How do you get it to tell you when your mail or a package arrives?
