According to a poll on MSN right now 21% admit to having defaulted on their student loans and another 27% are "going deeper into debt" which I am taking to mean they aren't paying and the interest is adding up. I feel this is probably a tremendous amount of money and our governmant should be persuing collection. When I got my student loans back in the dark ages your parents had to cosign and they had to have colateral -like a house -now the kids are legal adults so they don't require a cosign - I think they should go back to that - colateral and a cosigner. too many kids think this is a gift from the government.
