I received my 15lb box of Cushman Honeybells two days ago and what a dissapointment.  The box came from Harry and David.  I was perplexed but opened anyway.  I think they sent me the wrong box as these oranges definately were not was was presented so I figured a mistake had been made.  I called QVC customer service and they told me that Cushmans sold to Harry and David some time ago.  Not one mention of this was on-air on any of the presentations.  Consequently, I believe there is no oversight, or quality control and H&D are shipping regular oranges rather than the honeybells.  All customer service could do is refund me and did nothing to look into this matter.  From the reviews, I wouldl guess this is happening to many others.

Wow sorry to hear the oranges were a disappointment. I didn't know that Cushman's sold out to Harry and David. I was tempted to purchase the honeybells during the last presentation but decided to wait and after reading this post glad I did. I have ordered in the past and the oranges were a hit and miss for me but others have had good success with their orders.

I used to order wonderful big cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory.  Placed an order several years ago and here cake this pitiful little thing from Harry and David in a flavor that in no way resembled what I ordered.  Harry and David seem to be the kiss of death to food sales but they did refund my money.  Apparently the Cheesecake Factory sold their online sales business to H&D unfortunately.

Harry and David is now owned by 1-800-FLOWERS.

H & D used to be a genuine gourmet food company.

I learn something new each day...first didn't know H&D purchased cusman's and now were owned by 1-800-Flowers. It makes sense on the cushman acquisition as I remember ordering pears from H&D. I agree H&D was one of the genuine gourmet food companies. I have plenty of receipts for their "moose munch"Smiley Happy

My first order of Cushman's honeybells were from Florida.  Although they were good, they weren't near as juicy as portrayed on QVC.  My second order came from a place out west, were awful and I got a refund from QVC.  Never tried them again.  In fact after getting an order of Landies Candies pretzels, that were shown on air oozing caramel,  I will never purchase anymore food items from the Q.  My pretzels were dry, old and didn't have even a hint of caramel ooze.  My review of the pretzels was never posted.  I don't believe a lot of presentations of food items are  actually  what you receive.

I don't remember when Cushman's sold out to H&D, but it's been some years.  Tnhey used to have a small outlet near my condo and I often went in season to buy citrus for the house.  They sold by the pound and sold fruit that in those days wasn't really "pretty enough" for their bulk shipping.  Still tasted great.  Rarely bought citrus elsewhere in those years.

Harry and David had a store in the big mall near me -  sorry to say I was never impressed with the selection nor with the quality of what I did choose occasionally, so when Cushman's was selling to them, I found other places to buy my daily citrus.  Pretty much any good local market is just fine although I have yet to find the juicy goodness of the Honeybells from years back.

Another sad decline of past retail for me.

Never tried having anyone's fruit shipped to me although before I had to resort to a statin to control cholesteral, I toyed with ordering red grapefruit from a Texas company whose name is long gone from my memory.

A lot of people were disappointed last year too according to the reviews. Harry and David isn't what it used to be.

There is a brand of Honeybells sold on HSN called Hale Groves, anyone try these?
