curious verizon sales question

Any sales person here to explain? I bought a tablet at verizon and decided to return it and even though it cost me alot more i would get a different item. Well the sales girl went out of her way to convinve me to not return even though i said money was not an issue and i would buy a different but more expensive phone. Wouldnt she lose one comission and get another?
