Can you imagine what gary is thinking, mom not there, grandma not there, who will take care of gary.

I think Carrie's dog was named Gary. Billie is her daughter. Poor little guy is probably so confused.

I feel bad for the dog also. I heard that Billie is taking Gary because she also has a dog and they both get along great.

Billie is Carrie's daughter, Gary is Carrie's dog and constant companion. I am sure they both are feeling a little lost

A lot to deal with esp for a young lady. My heart goes out to her. Surely, she'll have the support and comfort that is so important at a time like this.

Just looking at the picture of him at the window breaks my heart. Anyone who understands the bond between pets and owners might feel that way.

As a family that is made up of rescues that live with and many canines we have fostered, a couple for a year or more, this is sad indeed for any animal.
With my wife on the board of a 5 state boxer rescue, she and in turn I, hear and see so many sad stories with rescues. Carrie's dog is fortunate to have a human and canine familiar family taking him into their home.
One very recent story of a boxer she rescued. The owner got her boxer as a pup, and now when he is 4 years old, she didn't want him any longer. "Owner Surrender", and my wife being the one to take this friendly guy out of the only home he has ever known. He went to a foster 2 states north of our home.
All these stories are sad to read, harder to personally see it and being involved in it. Our concern is not our sadness, but getting all these furry ones to a loving "forever home". I am happy is, in a sad situation, does have this glimmer of happiness for Carrie's canine family member.

Bless you @hckynut and Cindy for your incredibly wonderful good work. For me, my kids have always had four legs so this really hits close to home . . . ![]()
I hope you and Cindy have a happy and healthy 2017!
