Re: candles on a birthday cake

so last night i am at a gathering, we were also celebrating birthdays for two people.  There was cake, candles, singing the song, you know the drill.  Then the two birthday girls go to blow out the candles, and all i could think about, was what was flying all over the cake, as they were blowing.

I am not a germaphobe. but i'm thinking ewwww, this is kind of gross. Not one but two people blowing ???? across the cake.

Why oh why are we still doing this.? Isn't there a better way?

anyone seen or done something alternative to blowing the candles.?  with as many people now, who are uber concerned about germs, and getting sick, why havent we thought of a better way?

I am a germaphobe and have had a problem with this since I was a kid.  I don't care who blew on the cake, I don't want their blow germs.

I have a compromised immune system now, so for medical reasons this is a problem.

Re: candles on a birthday cake

This never once entered my mind.

I'm going to forget I read this.
