bedroom decorating

Hi looking for some color scheme ideas - redecorating a bedroom and master bath, going from dark cherry wood type antique looking furniture to all white dressers lamps white accent chair and white tufted headboard...looking for a more modern look. I was going to go with a silver for the walls in the bedroom but decided it wouldnt look that good with oak trim ( doors windows etc) also need a coordinating master bath color - any ideas?
