A grackle is a noisy black bird. We have them around here.

As far a 3's-so many people know about that superstition so when bad things do happen it appears that they come in 3's - but realistically we usually don't experience just one bad/inconvenient/annoying thing - I guess it depends upon what one believes and how serious an event/situation might be overall.
