anyone here sell on Poshmark?

[ Edited ]

I have listed a couple of things in the past, then canceled the listing when I started getting lots of messages from people asking me to text or email additional photos or details about the item. they send me a phone number or email address, which immediately makes my scam antennas go up. I have never responded to any of them and have tried contacting customer service several times, thinking surely this must go against the website standards, but have never gotten a response.

it's been about a year and I listed an item today and got about a dozen such messages within minutes.

I've sold things on eBay for 20+ years and never had that happen there.

has anyone else had this experience?

Re: anyone here sell on Poshmark?

Yes, it's a scam. You are to never text/talk with someone "off-site".

All communication must be done through Poshmark.

Never give out your phone number/email.

They are doing a phishing scam, trying to steal your account/identity/bank information, etc.

From Google:

Some Poshmark scammers may comment on a seller's listing, pretending to be interested in the product. They may claim that the pictures posted “aren’t displaying well” on the website or app and ask the seller to email them clearer photos. However, once you send the email, the scammer will send you a phishing email to try to steal your personal information.

A few ways to spot a Poshmark buyer email scam include:

A buyer insists photos are blurry when they look fine on your device.

Comments from a buyer appear within minutes of you listing an item.

Their profile shows a low follower count.

The buyer asks you to contact them via the email in their bio.

The buyer asks you to text them

@MariotaMurielle   @MezzieStarr

I sell on Ebay and have been wondering about trying Etsy or Poshmark.

Thanks for the heads up on scammers!

Re: anyone here sell on Poshmark?

i have been selling on Poshmark for about 3 years.

i have never had that happen to me.

you should only respond through the app.

if you get those messages just 'spam' it and move on.

i have had a great experience with them.

there are phishing scams on every platform.  we just have to learn to deal with it.  i get: EZpass, Amazon, Apple, Paypal, Netflix.  i just send them to their phishing email.

I love their commercials.

Sell a few things to pay your rent.......

Mom sells her slip dress so she & daughter can go mall shopping...

Sell a few things to hit the club.

You never see males trying to sell their clothing items. Smiley Tongue

@jackthebear  I know they do yet, they are invisible when it comes to resell site commercials.

Now there is a resell commercial that seems to cater to electronics.  Plenty of males in that commercial........touting "I just bought his MacBookPro for $20!!!!!!"  Yea, right. icon_rolleyes.gif
