Re: activity ideas for period of shutdowns

I work in a school district that just closed for the next two weeks so I needed ideas!   DH has been "spring cleaning" since the beginning of the new year but hasn't tackled the garage yet.  I have knitting and needlepoint projects that I have neglected for a long time.  The weather has been nice so I can walk.  I also recently bought some books that I haven't cracked yet.  I can take some on line courses for my continuing education requirement for my licence and certification.

@ninjawife  2 weeks may not be enough!  it is nice to be able to do things on your "to do" list without the pressure of getting them done working around a work schedule.  also it's nice to have a leisurely cup of tea or coffee first thing in a.m. without having to fly out the door!

I am sure I will be bored nonetheless and I also will be broke as I don't get paid for time off as I am a contractor.  Our state department of health urged the governor not to close schools but he did anyway.  IMy state only has 4 cases and no community spread.

@ms traditional  Jigsaw puzzles. Time goes by so quickly while doing them.

I'll be crocheting, doing new projects to push out of the box for myself.

and I'll be working on my planners.

My gym isn’t closed, but there are no group exercise classes or personal training this week. I can of course go train on my own and my trainer is holding outdoor training sessions away from the gym for those who are interested.

The golf courses have opened, so I can always play golf.

Ride my bike.

Go go for a run or long walk.

The library has closed for for two weeks, but I can download e-books at any time.

Play at lots of fetch with the dog.

Clearly, I have no plans to stay closed up indoors.

@qualitygal   i think something new - a highly anticipated book, a new project, whatever - will fight boredom and staleness.

I am lucky to work from home.  I will do that for 8 hours a day.  The rest of the time, I will be reading and crocheting.  Also, try to get my house straightened up!
