Let's talk about it in 2024 after we know how/if effective it is and what the side effects are.  I'll stick with my flu shots until then.

I'm not sure it replaces a flu shot. I think it's more of a back up plan, in case your shot doesn't work

It's already here. My son's friend's wife is in the Air force. He was really sick at work. My son told him he needed to go to the Dr. so he didn't get everybody else sick. So he went to the Air force Base  and they gave him a 24 hour pill. My son said it seamed to work.

It must be a perk for the military. Maybe the US is trying it out ,on a limited basis @sweetee2

Vacyclovir also kills the herpes simplex virus within 24 hours-2 pills taken 12 hours apart.

That has been around for years.

The new influenza med isn't available here in the U.S.  There are other antivirals that they sometimes give that are not influenza specific.

@sweetee2  That was probably Tamiflu if he was already sick when he took it.  Tamiflu has been around for a while.

I hope it's SAFE and that it WORKS and we get it here SOON. 

I'm still recovering from the flu after over two weeks now, and I got the flu shot, too. 

Tamiflu did NOTHING for my symptoms.
