@gertrudecloset   Do you work for a news affiliate or do a podcast show ?

Maybe a newspaper reporter ?

No, why would you ask?  Do you work for The British Government? @SharkE

I'm retired.  I don't work.  I'm like many other women here who come to chat and engage in fruitful discussions.

You sure post a lot every day about a lot of subjects you seem to have

your finger on the pulse of daily news.

@SharkE

You supposedly love the Brits and royalty.  I never asked you if you worked for them and lived there.

I like to read and I like to stay up on current events.  I also like to LEARN. That is why I'm treated like an outsider here.  Don't you get tired of talking about the same things over and over?  I hope what I share sometimes changes things up a bit here @SharkE .  I have many, many interests besides jewelry, clothing, shoes and shopping.  I pride myself on being able to discuss many topics because I consider myself to a fairly well rounded, logical thinking person.  Periodtttttt.  Pulse?  Look around you.  You could discuss the same subjects I do if you cared to.

I DON'T COME HERE EVERYDAY.  But when I do, I like to participate the way I want.  Not because you don't like my content!  Some people are on here from sun up to sun down EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR.  That's not me.

Anyone follow Kara and Nate on You Tube?  They are my favorites to follow. I eagerly await their new videos each week.

What do they do @gidgetgh ?  Is it general fun stuff, beauty, home, hacks.  I love to watch hack videos where you can take everyday objects and make use of them.  I'm in awe when I watch the video but dismayed if I have to try it.  LOL.

@gertrudecloset - a married couple from Nashville who decided in 2016 to travel for a year and make travel videos.  6 years later they're still doing it full time.  Over 3M followers.  But they're fun travel videos.  Not let's walk through a museum travel videos.  And they're a fun couple. It's been fun to watch them mature.  They make great videos.

@gidgetgh  Oh, that sounds like something I would like.  Will check them out.

If you're a handbag gal, check out handbag hound on youtube.  She reviews and compares all of her totes and shoulder bags.  They are mostly leather though.  She has such a nice soothing voice and I love the times she takes with her collection.

@gertrudecloset - I am definitely a "handbag gal". Handbags and Birkenstocks.  I'll check it out, thanks.

She doesn't have a real big following, but she's great @gidgetgh

If I lived in England I would go crazy visiting the historical sights, museums,

anything that is open to the public. I'd be there

I've been to the Tower, saw the jewels, Henry the VIII's palace, went to Scotland took the tour of Mary, Queen of Scots castle, went to Harrods,

Marks & Spencers, saw a show on the West end. We had a ball.

hated the time change and the money exchange, narrow streets, no parking, stuff like that.

I'd love to go back, but, not in todays world ! I'd love to see the Palace of Versailles too in France.  Just too dangerous to travel now days glad we did that when we were younger.

It's really amazing just how well so many are doing on Youtube!  Particularly the young ones mentioned!

I follow several and I'm always checking out new ones.  One of my favorites is Nicki Positano.  She's a British woman who went on vacation to Positano, Italy when she was young and found her significant other.  She married Carlo and they have a daughter.

She's now middle aged but shows what it's like living on the Amalfi Coast....the scenery is amazing!!!  It's so interesting to see and she has Carlo doing such gorgeous aerial videos of the coastline and sea to beautiful music. She makes videos once...sometimes twice a week and has gotten very good!

I also like to watch Cash Jordan.  He's a thirty something year old who does videos almost everyday of rental properties in NYC.  He always has interesting commentary and shows one around the neighborhood before showing the apartment.  Some are beautiful but more are super expensive dumps!

Going to check out some mentioned here.

I know he must have big following.  The real estate market for Manhattan alone is very very difficult for the average person.  It's only for the very well off 6 figures with the first of six figures more than 1!  LOL.  I will check him out @haddon9 .  I'm sure I'm not going to be surprised by what he shows.  It's all true.  $4,000 a month to live in tiny dumps in Manhattan.

@gertrudecloset Yes I find it AMAZIING the costs of some of these sketchy places.  Just today the apartment was in Carroll Gardens of Brooklyn (He mostly shows Manhattan & Brooklyn).... a 4 story walk up dump for 5K a month!

Yep.  I'm gonna get mad when I watch his visits, I just know it!  LOL @haddon9 .  I don't get wear they think average working people are supposed to live now.  It's not sustainable.

@gertrudecloset No I don't see how it can be.  Since he's young he seems to cater to the younger professional crowd....those who expect to share the apartment with several roommates.

I wonder though how some with families do it.  You really need to be making 200K to be comfortable with some of those prices.  Plus for that kind of money I would feel like I could do so much better by purchasing.

@haddon9 yes, some go the roomate route.  Some will try but will fail.  They say if you make it there you can make anywhere.  Frank Sinatra said that about New York.

Smart young man because he tapped into a niche that's needed.  If he's the real estate agent obviously so he is marketing his business on youtube and YOU KNOW people are checking.  He's getting paid from Real Estate Commissions and Youtube monetization.  Smart young man!

Some of the content producers who live in the high rise apartments in NYC are supporting their life with only YouTube and their apartments are ridiculously high.  I would not want to live in one because of the limitations and using an elevator instead of being able to walik a few steps to go outside but whatever, they seem to love it.  They are very pretty but I like my freedom to come and go and have a vehicle to drive.
