I think we are going to see more of this, which is fine.

We now have a book club and yoga just for vaccinated, and some prior members are mulling it over.

We also have a vet and an hairdresser looking to set up a system.  My oncology group has split the patient base.

Wonderful to feel safer.

I meant I should not have mentioned the topic as being Covid vaccine.  I feel people are focusing on that.  Should have been more general in choosing the subject as the vaccine.  I appreciate all the responses though

@rms1954, do mean that you should have just asked whether people should change their minds in general?

@rms1954   I am not sure how you would have presented this topic about a person changing his mind without bringing up the vaccine?

It would have been difficult if not impossible to give a pov without knowing why a person changed his mind.

Either way, my thought is that it is none of my business.  People change their minds.

I cannot spend my time assessing if somebody is telling the truth based on changing one's mind about one incident.

I honestly do not understand where you are going with this?  It sounds as though you are surprised most responses are not against this person.

I am glad he did get the vaccine.  I do understand your concerns, Imtep.  He was very much against and than he did the opposite.  I would wonder why the change of mind but in this case be happy he chose to be vaccinated.

It wouldn't have been a fair question if you left out that information.

It sounds as if you are looking for an excuse to judge this person rather harshly, IMO.  But that's probably another topic...

As with everything in life, it's all in where you put your priorities. To him, being with this group was important to him and became a priority. And the group felt being vaccinated was a priority for any get togethers.

Why in the world fault someone who changed their mind so they could be with friends again?

As others have said, he has the right to change his mind. The only potential fault I can see is that he's not upfront about it. He should be able to own his decisions. Unless he has some very judgmental people in his circle.

I agree with this completely. Life is all about priorities. The guy might not have even changed his mind about the vaccine but decided that music was a higher priority than not getting the shot. I can't fault him...music & friends would be my priority too.

I will say that I don't get the "he's keeping it hush hush" part. It's not something to be ashamed of. If people are making him feel bad for getting it that's on them--not him. Maybe those are the friends he can do without.

wow somebody changed their mind and did the right thing!

Celebrate.  Aren't we taught to reward good behavior?

I have a relative in ICU right now with Covid.  I suspect if they were asked this three weeks ago the answer would have been yes to the vaccine instead of no. They are just now off the ventilator.
