I was 'asked out' by a member many years ago. We worked at the same company. I politely declined because I was seeing another gentleman at the time. He was always cordial when we spoke, but I was told of the mayhem he had been part of in the past. And he did ride a beautiful blue Harley.

I know some of these groups that raise money for charity, it takes all kinds. Stay in your lane and I think it will be ok.

I have had many interactions with bikers who belonged to hell's angels. They ride Harley's and their bikes are loud.
They have come into our resturant and bar and I served them many times. I never felt any fear around them and actually, they were polite.
I wouldn't ride or hang out with them, but if they said hello, I would return the greeting. They are just people. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you.

@Puzzle Piece wrote:We moved to a small city for my husbandad's retirement. It's a rather dull place to me. However, this place has a large chapter of Hells Angels here. They have rule over a certain street where their 'clubhouse' is located. I'm not into that sort of lifestyle and have no interest in seeking out aqauintances with the members, etc. What are your thoughts on that bunch.
@Puzzle Piece On a positive note, maybe Hells Angels activity in your "dull" town might bring some excitement to the area.

If they are true "Hells Angels" (1 %er outlaws, not a common sight) then they are considered a criminal organization and do carry out widespread violent and organized crimes. It's no joke. They aren't just a little motorcycle group that rides together, which is the majority of what we see.
Quoting myself, haha
Reading everyone's responses, I do totally agree about not judging anyone based on a group they belong to. I absolutely agree...If you're nice and respectful to me I'll be the same to you, I don't care who you are or what you believe etc.
My point is that true Hell's Angels are rare and not commonly seen by most folks, that's why they're known as 1%er's and these people are historically involved in criminal activity.
Most motorcycle riders or clubs aren't these people....

Oh and fyi, I'm an expert (joking, I'm an expert of nothing)
because I watched a cool documentary on them (I forget the name) haha....
Really interesting....

Yes, but remember Altamont?

The Hells Angels reign supreme as the number one outlaw club. I've never met, or even seen, any HA's, around my TX location. Maybe they're just avoiding a turf war, as our dominant gang in my location, is the Bandidos and they don't get along.
While all outlaw clubs are engaged in many terrible crimes, they try to convince folks that they're nice guys, having charity rides, toy drives for kids, etc. But, it's only a thinly veiled facade. You can't be a 'good guy' and be in a criminal gang. Even if you tried, you have to have ultimate loyalty, at all times. That means you can't say no, if asked. It's kind of the equivalent of a biker cult.
Having said all that, my DH and I both had bikes and we met many Bandidos. In fact, one of the best motorcycle bike repair shops is near my home, run by one of the top leaders of the Bandidos. They also have a base nearby, but I've never heard of any problems there.
DH had his bike there for repairs and we were treated like royalty when the owner found out we were both RN's. He was recovering from someone trying to kill him. He shared the story, and we reviewed his ongoing treatment for his serious injuries. He was appreciative.
Interestingly, every time we were in his shop one, or more, police officers would enter with bike questions, or to bring their bike in for repairs. I often wondered if this was just a way to snoop around, but they seemed to be buddies. That left me wondering what was up. All playing one another? Maybe. They'd both be good at it.
So, to @Puzzle Piece, the HA's are not likely to bother you on their own turf. Again, amongst the neighbors, this is usually where they want to present their best behavior for the most part. Just ignore them and go about your life.
BTW, I wouldn't call your community dull, if you have a HA clubhouse near by, LOL. I've never found any other group of folks to be more interesting to observe, than these outlaw members.

Funny @BlueFinch , I was just going to advise the OP to call the local Police Dept. and ask them what she's asking us. ![]()

I'd take some (homemade) baked goodies to the "Clubhouse" and introduce myself and let them know that I'm their *new* neighbor - Wink-Wink. ![]()
