Someone has to program the computer. So, no.

I think it depends on when "one day" might be. In the United States we are still a country ruled by our laws and we are to be judged by a jury of our peers (if a jury is needed). As long as we remain a Republic and follow our Constitution, then no, I don't believe that we will be judged by computers for major offenses or charges. Computers and cameras are already being used for traffic offenses, but we still have the right to go before a judge, and some states have ruled traffic cameras illegal. If computers take over, it won't be in my remaining lifetime (hopefully).

Oh, I hope not! That woman who ran the stop sign needs to do some explaining to someone other than, "I don't know what happened." Yes, it was an accident. But answers are needed. I'll never know, but the Judge (maybe) and her insurance company will find out.

The TV show Battlestar Galactica was the perfect example of how humans might someday coexist with AI on an 'equal' level. A fine line between what it is to be human vs a machine. So yes, I do believe that one day we might be judged by a computer.

I think it might be a good idea. And have computers for the jury too. Lets put away the right people ( the bad people) based on the correct facts with no emotions making the verdict. Not based on skin color or anything other than the facts of the case.
I think that that would be much more fair.

I am sure it will...not tommorrow or next year...but down the road...
