I am an early riser so my happy place is waking up as the sky is still a little dusky.I love to go out on the deck and watch the sun rise and the birds feeding.I have seen mink.beavers, deer and plenty of fish jumping in the lake. The lake is usually very calm at this time of day and the water sparkles as the morning sun shines. The mountains surrounding me are variable shades of fresh green and so beautiful.I look forward to this time at my cabin when the rest of the world is still sleeping and the only sounds are nature.

Near the ocean or other water. Even a swimming pool will do, but the ocean is the ultimate.

Sitting outdoors at sunset with good friends and a glass of wine.

Vacation by the ocean instantly gives me peace.

At home, just relaxing in my bedroom or being in the family room.  Anywhere in my house relaxes me...

It changes over the years, but now it's in my mother's living room.

She's 91 years old, lives in a different state in the condo my father purchased in the 1970's.  I travel every other month to see her (my sister goes when I'm not there so she has more of us).  She still lives a busy social life, so when I come, it's just our weekend.    We sit, compete with each other doing her word puzzles, watch her favorite game shows and talk, laugh, talk. I watch her take her 20 minute naps (which she swears never happen) sometimes mid-conversation.  Complete happiness.

@Caaareful Shopper  That’s a gift to your Mom and to yourself. My Mom is 90 and lives close enough to visit every other week. She’s slowing down a little, the flu hit her hard last month & she’s still recovering. Gave us all a scare.

.....cold, rainy or snowy day. Dinner is leftovers , laundry done and nothing else but “me time”.  I plug in my electric blanket and preheat on #3, crawl underneath and melt into a dream filled, delicious nap.

My happy place is anywhere my husband is, we love having coffee together at the kitchen table  every morning. I was sick for a few days and wasn't up and about, he mentioned that coffee was no fun without me there.
