Well, you know how when you go in for surgery and the anesthetist comes in and says: "We are just going to give you a little something to relax." ?

I work in pre-op/recovery. They are just giving you versed, which a benzodiazapene. You certainly don't have to undergo surgery to get that. Ask your doc for a prescription for ativan.

My kitchen.  Times I just love to bake and prepare a new recipe.  I don't even care if I eat it, but to make it, smell it, and let others enjoy it.  Baking is a comfort for me.

But even better, when little Jadie does once a day kiss attack.  She comes flying in at the warped speed of sound, jumps up on my chair and smothers me in kisses. Then she turns and leaps off the chair, like nothing's happened.  I love it! LOL

In a hospital setting, something is needed to help me relax.  At home, I can usually chill out UNTIL my husband plays music at Mach II while I am trying to concentrate on something else.

Pre-recovery?   is that a PACU?
