Thank you, thank you, thank you to all therapy dog owners here AND THE DOGS! This brought tears to my eyes. A woman brings two full grown golden retrievers to my dad's nursing home. One just goes right to my Dads chair, lays his head gently in his lap, and never moves till dad quits petting his head. He seems to know that Dad can't move around much and is weak...it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Dad just loves it and when they come to his door....he NEVER turns them down. What a blessing you people and your dogs are to these nursing home people. Not only that but to their families also.

The Making of a Surgeon: Working with the Dead
The position of which I speak was located in a large medical school/hospital/clinic complex and oversaw twelve surgical specialty departments' specific type of educcation, plus trauma training, using donated tissue.
What would you write about?
********** Your post interested me because I have been contemplating donating my body to science. Maybe you could title it something like What Your Death Can Mean To Others or maybe, The Last Gift You Ever Give I think your idea of a book like this is great. I would read it.
Unfortunately, that book has already been written.
However, please know that your donation would be most appreciated, whether for organ donation purposes or for the body to be donated. When considering the latter, you may want to think on the following: you may donate to a university in your area which has a donation program or approach a private sector donor concern. Due to my experience, I can tell you that generally speaking the second of the two will provide more opportunities for tissue to be used in research as opposed to the university program, if research is important to you. University programs are extremely important as medical schools in surrounding communities and as far away as 500 miles benefit in terms of teaching what will be and are new physicians, nurses and physical therapists.

"Thank God and Greyhound She's Gone". Of course I would have to get permission to use the title since it's a song. ![]()
Subject ... well, I can be your best friend or your worst (non) enemy. I've had my share of men, women, friends, family and life that made me who I am. Mostly fun, but stubborn. Street smart, but not intelligent. Naive, but experienced. Serious and silly. Loving and faithful... even when I don't like you any more. LOL I don't have to like you, but I still care.
I speak my mind and some are glad I walk out of their life, but they are the same ones that are still around. Glad to see me gone, but glad to have me around when they actually need a friend.
I make my own rules now and if you can get to me ... then Thank God and Greyhound that I let you and keep the motor running. ![]()

I like to imagine other kinds of lives and would choose fiction. Perhaps I'd mix a little of life's drama with a lesson about life, add a touch of humor, and try to end with hope. Maybe titles similar to, Under the Breakup Bridge, Cementing Over Mr. Mitchell, or Radio Shrink. Ideas that would show me other characters' ideas and decision-making and their outcomes..
