You don't have to change your password

Just today I got asked to change my Amazon password.  Yesterday I was asked to change my QVC password.  I figured out years ago that you just enter your old password, confirm your old password, and you are back in business.  QVC used to give commands to change your name and many posters did.  I've been depglass since day one and every time I had to change I entered depglass.

I have tried that same thing for various companies. It has never worked for my bank, credit union, or stocks exchange website. It does, however, work here at my office.

@depglass

I would be concerned that any such request was an attempt to scam me.  Emails can look like they are from a given company and really be a phishing attempt.  Amazon is a good one for crooks to use because so many people do have Amazon accounts.  I've never been asked to change my Amazon password.

Re: You don't have to change your password

I received an e-mail from AT&T to change my password, I did, and thought what did I do, did I just fall for a scam.

I did, seriously this e-mail was picture perfect, the address of the sender was so close to the original contact for AT&T except for one period.

What I did to reverse it all was go in directly into their website and change it again.  Oh my gosh, I should of known better.

I don't know of any websites requesting password changes and if they do, do not use the link provided.

Re: You don't have to change your password

I think the password change notices popped here Thursday due to the overall forum IT problems mentioned elsewhere.

Never click on those pop-ups to change your password. Go to your account at the actual website to change it.

Re: You don't have to change your password

According to Amazon they will NEVER email you to change your password or for any personal info.

You have been scammed.
