@makena.  Do you know what global warming is?

@I don't know if @makena does, but I know what some say it is. Actually many that "say it is", but with different so-called, scientific theories.

The good thing about science is that it's always there whether you believe in it or not.

@Libbylady

And real science never says: "we now have the final answer". If I went back and revisited the many things that were said to be "the final scientific facts", that have since been modified or changed?

One example I heard for decades during my Drag Racing years was this. For those not familiar with that sport, it is cars or any type of motor vehicle that "goes from a standing still start and accelerates for 1320 feet, and the time is measured on the number of seconds it takes to cover that distance, down to the 1 thousand of a second".

It was said that it was "scientifically impossible for any combustion engined machine to cover that 1320' in less than 8 seconds". Since that time it consistently was proven wrong, and now it is common to see racing machines at Drag Strips cover that distance in 4 seconds.

So much for finality when it comes to scientific facts.

I think today will be another record-breaking high temperature here in Colorado Springs. Right now it's 65' in the shade. Motorcycles are out in full force. This is crazy.

Just saw there were massive mud sides in the LA area...

due to the recent fires, mud just slides down the hills when it rains.

I believe 5 have died...so sad.

Re: You Think Your Weather Has Been Weird?

I remember reading a science fiction story where everything was under control except the weather.

I stopped paying attention long ago to the stories weather people keep spinning.

Weather has always been weird. I'm 59 years old and in my lifetime I've seen pretty much everything. For a while they were saying we were in a new ice age. Some were advocating building massive man-made mountains with steel spines north of our major cities to break up the advancing glaciers to prevent them from crushing our big cities. Then the Gulf Stream was moving up the East Coast and NJ would have Miami-like weather. A local farm/nursery column in our county paper recommended local nurserymen plant orange, lemon and grapefruit trees instead of apple and peach trees due to the soon to be tropical weather. Yeah, not a good idea.

We just got above freezing for the first time in a couple of weeks yesterday. Weather is ever-changing and unpredictable, despite their best attempts to convince us otherwise. We could be seventy next week or seven below, you just never know. If you look at the geological/fossil record you'll find tropical plant fossils near the poles and cooler weather fossils nearer the equator. There is no stability in the weather and climate. It's constantly in flux.

I am dying to have some lemon and palm trees on my backyard in NJ.....🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I would not be thinking of moving toFlorida ......Nomore winter jackets.....

i do not think I is going to happen though....
