Crossing the mountains yesterday from NC to TN and back I saw shades of red and a little yellow.  The burning bushes are starting to turn red.  Just a few chilly nights was all it took.  However, the heat will be back this week and local news is saying the changing colors may slow.  Not good for the early leaf lookers that flood this area starting in September.

My hummingbirds, on the other hand, have started their gorging and weight gain sooner than usual so we may end up with an early winter.

Our leaves are starting to fall without changing colors yet.

I start craving honey crisp apples,  banana nut bread, caramel corn, and bratwurst and sauerkraut. Yep, it is all about food!

I put my swim suit away - have had enough of the lake and the sun!

I go thru my jeans and see what I need... Which is seriously probably not another pair!

I start planning what I am doing for my husbands birthday in October!

Unfortunately, you know it's September when the stores start Christmas displays.

I did notice some of the leaves on the maple trees turning to red and gold.
