Now that I think more about it think it was the Mother Goose rhyme "It is raining, It is pouring, the old man is snoring" is the one they did not like.

@DiAnne-

Oh good. Now that doesn't seem strange. That has a sad not funny ending. "bumped his head.. and he.. went to bed..and he..didn't get up in the mooorningg!"

So many nursery, jumprope rhymes we had were kind of creepy huh?

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

Re: Yesterday I heard 2 different responses to the rain-both endearing:)

I've been 'people watching' my whole life.

I can sit outside in a public place, on a nice sunny and warm day, and watch my life away! LOL

I tend to go places with my family (like car shows) that I really don't have a lot of interest in. I walk and look until my knees hurt too much, then they know to plant me on a bench in the shade somewhere, and take their time and enjoy the rest of the event. I'll be there, enjoying just watching people and soaking in the day.

I can't believe you said this -making some "fudge" from mud and giving it to the neighborhood bully!-way to go!-Okay I know mean but still, sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. I used to beat the boys indian wrestling to solve an argument. They would be so ashamed they were beaten by a girl, not another word was said and they went home "wagging their tails behind them"-okay,-stop with myself lol!

But I got a special "homemade" tootsie roll from my sister. She knew I loved them and made one out of clay that looked just like one.Her friends were in on it too.  I ate it of course and then cried. She did feel bad about it.

We laugh about it now.

@on the bay ... Good for you beating the boys at Indian wrestling! You showed 'em!

In our situation, the boy's mother called up our mother when her son came crying home. My mother told his mother that we could "give as good as we get." The boy's mother didn't know what she was talking about. My mother went on to explain how her son was the neighborhood bully. His mother was shocked. We didn't see much of him after that.
