It hasn't been easy. There have been times where I wanted one, but I didn't want one, more than I did.

I wasn't enjoying it any more, so I took the last six in the pack, and dumped them in the toilet.

Years ago I was forced to quit because of health problems.

Which was for the best.

That was nine years ago but I still have a pack in the freezer

For some reason, it just makes me feel better.

What was strange for me, I never liked the taste or the smell.

And now when I'm at a store, you can smell a smoker.

Wonderful! There's a terrific site called "quitnet" that helped me over 5 years ago. Hang in there and it being a non smoker again becomes your way of life!

Congratulations and best of luck to you @Plaid Pants2. Getting through the first 24 hours is not easy so be proud of yourself for that!

I never ever ever thought I'd be able to quit; I tried so many times and failed. But I've been a non smoker for 11 years now and I'm forever grateful that I quit.
