Granddi, I was getting those emails also. They stopped bugging me after a couple years.

My email is a *Verizon.net* email, but I go through Yahoo Mail to get my email.
So I guess I'm a Yahoo (e-) Mail person?
I hope *it* never goes away because I LOVE my email address. And when I give it, people are so surprised that it's just one *word* and not followed by a 1 or 2 or 3 or whatever.
Doesn't mean I'm ugly, or old, or poor, or stupid, just because I'm with Yahoo. Nope.

I did. My free yahoo quit beginning of June. Had to purchase it now. But for some reason I lost all my folders in the old mail, and they never came back

Amazing what people assume from another's comment. Simple fact is that younger people are not opening Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL etc email accounts. By using one will indicate that you are older. No one ever said anything about ugly, poor or stupid . Hate it when people twist others words so they can be offended and play the victim.

I have a couple Google accounts, but still use my original AOL account from 25-30 years ago. It depends on who I'm giving it to. I was giving that old one to someone not too long ago, and I said I was embarrassed by the silly name I used. He said, "I'd be more embarrassed that you're still using AOL." 😂

WTH do you mean these email addresses 'show your age'?
Ohhhh, if you're still in the working world?
Sounds a little discriminatory, are you in HR?
Luckily, I was hired for every job/position I ever applied for.
This was long before *outdated* email addresses came into play....
I went by experience, work history and references/ recommendations.

Email is Email. What's the big deal what you use. I met the founder of AOL, nice guy and used it until I got ride of Email altogether. No need for it anymore.

My motto is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
AOL was the forerunner of all these newer email options. The fact that it's still around means it's still working and dependable. Some newer things come and go; have constant glitches or make you pay for them. (I've never paid a cent to use AOL.)
Frankly, I don't care what anyone else thinks about my choices.
