I wa at the Queen's official birthday trooping of color in London and it wa wonderful.  More to come today biggest street party on the Mall.

I was supposed to fly home but got offered a ticket to see the Trooping.  I am a Londoner and for me this was soooperb.  My Dad was in Guards my father-in-law Blues & Royals and was honored by the Queen for services in WW11 so for me when I got the chance - cancelled return ticket and had one of the best days of my old life.  May never get home!

So proud to be there today - big shoutout to my pals on Can We Talk Noel7' moonchilde, Homegirl and JustJazzmom.  Street party next then big referendum re EEC also Battle of Somme remembrance celebrations.

@dulwich that is so exciting. I've been enjoying all the photos of it in People Magazine today.  Were you able to see any of the royals from where you were?   A couple of posters and I have been going on about the Queen's frog green suit.  And Charlotte made her appearance on the balcony.  How very exciting for you - you'll remember it always.

Re: Yahoo My Cup Runneth Over!

Hi Pearley - from our section we had a great view - I love the noise and clatter of the gun carriages and Household Cavalry all the horses trotting - when the parade was leaving we managed to get out and literally ran to the youth section on the mall - another friend working there so we stood there - Mall very crowded - and had great views of carriages, bands, soldiers returning to the Palace.  Flyover tremendous - Queen's very bright green worked as she is very small but we could see her.  Good views on the Mall of returning Royals but I just wanted to see the Troop as my father-in-law used to participate every year when he was alive.  Thanks for your interest.

Re: Yahoo My Cup Runneth Over!

@dulwich  Thank your for your response, from overseas!  How nice of you and how great that you could see the tiny queen in her green and other royals.  I don't know if you've seen the thread about today here on the board so it's below.  PEOPLE mag has a great photo spread on this.  And did you know that Troop guy passed out?  Safe travels back to the USA. Your posts were some of the most interesting I"ve ever read here - and unexpected to hear from someone actually at the Trooping.

@dulwich, how fabulous! What a fantastic bit of luck you had, to be able to go at the last minute like that. The photos & video clips I've seen were brilliant. What a fantastic celebration for all concerned.

We miss you!

How wonderful that you were able to change your plans and go to the ceremonies.  You would have kicked yourself if you had returned home one day "too soon."  It was meant to be.
