One of the world’s most opulent yachts, Fountainhead, owned by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who is also a star of the television reality series “Shark Tank,” has been anchored off Bar Harbor for the last week.

The 288-foot long vessel was built by Feadship Yachts in the Netherlands. She sports a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. The cost to build her was estimated at more than $350 million.

She has been spotted in ports along the East Coast, working her way north, throughout the summer. The Fountainhead, which is registered in the Cayman Islands, is often docked in Miami. It can accommodate up to 20 guests served by a crew of nearly two dozen.

Launched in 2011, the vessel is powered by four 3,650 horsepower diesel engines that drive four propellers. Its generators can supply the electrical needs of more than 250 homes.

Cuban, a billionaire several times over, is reportedly a fan of author and philosopher Ayn Rand. It is believed the ship is named after her novel “The Fountainhead.”

Fountainhead is a sister ship to the Oracle founder Larry Ellison's super yacht Mushashi.

Putin raided his citizen's pension funds to pay for the gold toilet paper holder on that yacht. The oligarchs are so corrupt they've stolen anything that isn't locked down. End-stage regime corruption always results in stuff like this.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
