I would have zero interest in owning a yacht. I'd rather buy an innovative, promising corporation.....or fund cancer research or maybe build a few thousand luxury cat rescue organizations.

There was an interesting article in the Washington Post not too long ago, about the cost of yachts.  Wow they cost millions a yearto just run!   It's not just the fuel, but add in crew,and a year round captain.  The maintenance is horrendous, as well as port fees,equipment.    Especially for the yachts the size of Nicole's and Bezos and many of the  oligarchs. You can't claim most of the costs.  I didn't know this, but one can't get into ports very easy either.   So going  on a big trip is a huge undertaking.  And if you sail into certain waters you could be in big doo doo as well. Who'd a thunk it?   
of course, these are not issues I have to deal with.  Lol. I am grateful for my. Trust Land Rover, lol gets me where I want to go

I have no interest in any size boat, not even a row boat. There’s nowhere to go except in the water, if there’s trouble. Once I was invited to a party on someone’s yacht. I declined, but explained why and he understood.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z  Vacationing on This Megayacht That Costs Nearly $4 Million a Week to Rent.

Music icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z were spotted on board the world's most expensive charter yacht, Flying Fox, in September 2021. Opting to skip out on the 2021 Met Gala to spend some quality time in the sun, the pair enjoyed their holiday on board the superyacht cruising the French Riviera together with their children, sharing pictures from their charter on social media.

The pair decided to rent the mega-yacht Flying Fox for around $4 million a week. On her Instagram account, Beyoncé shared the photos from the impressive ship that measures about 417 feet long and costs about $500 million to build. The ship can accommodate up to 25 passengers comfortably in several suites.

There are 55 crew members, many of whom are dual-trained to be chefs, housekeepers, medics, dive instructors, hairdressers, and more. The ship has several decks—including a helipad on the roof—and the amenities feature a vast swimming pool, a dive centre and a spa spread over two floors, equipped with a sauna and cryo sauna, gym, cinema, submarine, and water sports equipment (to name a few!).

The couple have plenty of experience cruising on sizeable superyachts, but Flying Fox is the biggest yacht they have chartered out yet.

American basketball legend Michael Jordan was spotted stepping on board 94.6 metre superyacht O'Pari in late August 2021. Boarding in the Croatian city of Split, Jordan spent his time on O'Pari cruising the Dalmatian Coast.

Delivered in 2020, O’Pari is the eleventh hull in the “O” series by Golden Yacts, commissioned by the Greek Dragnis dynasty and the newest sistership to superyachts such as 84.73 metre O'Ptasia and 57 metre O'Mathilde. She was designed inside and out by Studio Vafiadis and can accommodate up to 12 guests across 14 cabins.

A helipad allows for arrivals and departures in style and an elegant atmosphere awaits inside with interior spaces decorated in artworks hand-selected by the owner’s son. Key features on board include an expansive beach club with a massage room, dry Finnish sauna and Turkish hammam plus a spa pool on the upper deck.

The sundeck is designed for entertaining, with a firepit lounge for cosy dining, an outdoor screen for al fresco movie nights and a DJ booth and fully equipped wet bar for parties. O’Pari also boasts a well-stocked toybox, carrying Sea-Doos, as many as four Seabobs, two Fliteboards, kayaks, tubes, slides, water skis and more.

O'Pari is managed for charter by Atlanta Golden Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €1,000,000.

To celebrate her 52nd birthday in July 2021, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez spent her special day on board 85.1 metre superyacht Valerie. She was joined on board by boyfriend Ben Affleck, having rekindled the relationship more than a decade after the pair were first engaged in the early 2000s. 

The Lürssen superyacht has been cruising around St Tropez while Lopez and Affleck have been on board.  The superyacht can accommodate up to 17 guests served by 27 crew. Guests can arrive by helicopter thanks to the touch and go helipad, and have plenty to keep themselves entertained on board with a six metre swimming pool and multiple hot tubs, al fresco dining and lounge areas and cocktail bars. There’s also an on board spa complete with a hammam and beauty treatment room/hair salon.

The 91.5 metre superyacht 'Tranquility' was chartered in 2019 by make-up mogul Kylie Jenner for her 22nd birthday. Together with her friends and family – including her young daughter Stormi – Jenner celebrated lavishly at sea while cruising around Capri, Italy. Her guests would have been taken care of by the 31 crew members on board the Oceanco superyacht.

Tranquility features an opulent interior by Andrew Winch and boasts amenities such as vast swimming pool, a grand piano, multiple Jacuzzis and an extensive spa with massage and hammam rooms. Snaps of Jenner on board were shared on Instagram; she was seen relaxing on the sundeck, breakfasting at the 12-seat dining table and braving the 21 metre jump into the sea from Tranquility’s upper deck.

Tranquility is available for charter with Camper & Nicholsons from €1,100,000 a week.
