Please, deer do not have horns but antlers.  Antlers are shed every year and regrow.  Animals with horns do not lose them and they continue to grow throughout the animals life.

@kitty60  You are absolutely correct.  My initial post was to make a play on Texas long horns (I live in Texas).  My other post indeed should have said antlers.
