I thought it was common knowledge here that independent posters CAN and DO ""poof"" threads. I've seen it done time and time again. I also know certain posters who can and have done it.

All you have to be is a little tech savvy about computers.

I despise people who ""take the law in their own hands !!!! "" for their gain.

Hi, golfcartrider! I seriously doubt "one person" can have a thread removed -- unless you mean the "one person" is the moderator, or perhaps the originator of the thread (I've heard of people reporting their own thread, hoping to have it deleted).

Hi dooBdoo, one person can start the chain reaction of others following.

I have reported my own threads in hopes of getting deleted when it starts going in the wrong direction

When politics or religion comes into play you can bet the thread will be deleted.

Politics, yes. Religion, no. Among Friends sub-forum is mainly for Catholics.

Unfortunately, due the the climate of the country, health care has become political. That being said, it is sad that citizens don't want to know the facts (not opinions). If someone disagrees with, or offers more information to help people make their own, informed decision, it isn't allowed. It wasn't a mean-spirited thread at all. As is the norm here, it is the poster, not the post. cheers! chum

Exactly. Op was the most aggressive in trashing the system. Poor Terrier was trying to offer her professional expertise but couldn't get through for all the "opinions".

Hi, Qlady! I'd love to know what you think happens, because I've spent years in IT and I know of no way to achieve this feat you describe. I have to respectfully disagree with your comment that a poster can remove a post or a thread.
