Wow we seem to be caught in a significant downpour.

It started like any thunderstorm about an hour ago.Lots of thunder & lightening and heavy rain that only lasted a few min. Then a second cloud came over with it's dose of rain a few min later. However that one is still raining an hour later - heavy heavy rain for a solid hour. Our lanai was totally flooded til DH went out & opened the door so it would drain into the yard, which significantly lowered the water.Another inch and it would have been coming in at the bottom of the sliding doors.I doubt those doors could have stopped it coming in.For some reason it doesn't seem to be going out thru the lanai screening into the yard, which has DH & I puzzled.

I think we were supposed to get some remnants from TS Issac , so I guess this is it.

I'm sympatheric for everyone who's dealing with such terrible flooding.

It's so dry out here in the west.  We haven't had rain in a long time and it looks like we won't either.  Some of our reservoirs are down to 17% capacity of water.  We didn't get enough snow last winter to fill them.  Climate change is real.

I'm in Ok. It stopped raining here but it's flooding in some areas in OKC, Edmond, Norman & Ada. They are showing it on the Weather Channel. The rain is from the TD that was in the Gulf.

Re: Wow we seem to be caught in a significant downpour.

Finally stopped , about 1 1/2 hours of heavy rain. Still black clouds and lots of thunder, but we aren't seeing any of the lightening.

Always the oddest weather down here.Rarely ever just rains - always a big event storm. I miss the soft gentle all day rains in Pa. where you could put on a raincoat and take a walk. Of course, Pa also get's it's storms too, but those  gentle rains are so enjoyable.Every once in a while it was nice on a day off, home alone, just me & the dog, to really appreciate an all day rain.Bake some cookies, make some soup, sit out on our covered porch & watch the rain.

I'm in western Pa.  91 degrees today and we're under a severe thunderstorm watch.  We're not in a flood zone but temperatures will drop around 40 degrees.  Could possibly have pop-up tornadoes.  So much scary weather.

yup went to WM I was walking to my car (which today I parked in farthest space) and out of nowhere....downpour!

I got soaked like I jumped in a pool.  Of all days to wear my new sandals...got home looked like a "drowned rat" spouse said...what happened to you?😳

It wasn't raining at our house 10 minutes away!

I watched the first storm blow away over the lake behind my house. Didn't see the next one coming at all - just a clap of thunder and heavy rain. Then it seemed to stall right here, lasting an hour & a half.

If we get anymore rain here in PA, we may have to build an arc.  Roads and houses have been destroyed.  Bridges have been whiped out and people have been swept away by raging water.

in addition, underground springs have collapsed the ground above them...causing cars and houses to be sucked into the ground.  We have an had awful time this year.  If it only rains heavy for one hour, that is good news here.  The gentle rains you remember are no longer happening.

i am praying for dry weather, especially this winter.  We have so much water here and don't need anymore.

@Carmie

Our weather is insane with all the flooding.

I for one would not be driving over that bridge or any other bridge with water flowing under it like that.

The flooding was bad here as well. Schools were closed for a week. Definitely puts things in perspective when it comes to weather complaints.
