Yes, I would and I have --- only once though.

My family and I were on the highway on a Sunday night (my husband was driving).  There was an extremely erratic driver swerving into all of the lanes.  He almost crashed into the divider on the left and the trees on the right.  He almost hit us and many other cars on the highway that night.  It was the most frightening thing we had ever experienced on the road.  We had our two young girls in the car with us too.  My husband was driving and couldn't believe what we were witnessing.

It was obvious that this was either a high or drunk driver.  It wasn't the typical insanity that you see on the roads around here sometimes.

We called the police and reported the location and what was happening.  The police told us not to follow him or go anywhere near his car.  We were told to get off the highway to safety. 

We don't know what happened after that, but we are pretty sure something terrible would have happened had we not made the call.  I don't regret it for one second.
