Re: Would you open the envelope???

@World Traveler Actually I was going to be nice and will them to you but, on second thought, I could go to my grave with them and use it to get me past St. Peter at the gates.  Smiley Very Happy

@ProudMa For myself, NO!  Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but gets you nowhere.  I would prefer to live one day at a time because the anxiety would be debilitating for me.

Re: Would you open the envelope???

oh heck yeah I'm going to open that puppy!!  I need to know how much time I have to schedule my last meal.  If I'm going to die I want to know so I can be sure to eat the stuff I've been staying away from due to calories lol.  I mean if it says tomorrow that only gives me one day to find all my favorites.  :-)

I have an envelope  for you, in it is the date and time of your death.  There is NOTHING you can do to change it.

Would you open it??

I definately would.....Knowledge is power

Have a feeling most wont... but is that more because you dont want to think about the enivibality of life ending?

I'd want some info first. Where did you get that envelope? Who came up with the info? Can we get this info on other people? If no, why not, or how much will it cost us?

How about other termination dates? Does someone have the info on when a marriage will end, or a friendship, or a business? How about births, new starts?

All of that is far more interesting than my meaningless death.

Re: Would you open the envelope???

Absolutely NOT. If that was information we were meant to have, it would be stamped  on the bottom of our foot.  I do not think anyone wants to know that our death is looming...like getting a  stage 4 cancer diagnosis.....how awful.

sounds very macabre to me....dark....

Don't think I would open it.. I would worrry about it  and worry about getting everything ready for my passing beforehand since I have no close living relatives.   I've already made plans for my interment.

Nope!!!!  What is the point?  Your life would be structured around your date of death.  If it's a time and soon or showing you go at a young age then your life will be anxiety over it and in most cases a gloom and doom why bother attitude.  If it shows you'll live to a ripe old age then it could cause an attitude of putting things off since there is a lot of time left.  I would sooner live one day at a time and enjoy life.  I think there was an episode like that on one of those shows like "The Twilight Zone" or "One Step Beyond".

@Pook

WELL SAID, especially the part of it like it being a Twilight Zone episode.....

Yes.

We all die anyway.

Some people I know are just waiting around actually wondering when they will die.

For some death is all they think about as they age especially if they are confined to bed or in a nursery home and all alone.

Maybe that is why people wear DNR and DNV bracelets, and why they ask you those questions when in the hospital.

I only go by the invisible date that my creator put on the bottom of my feet.  Only He knows.
