I know someone who drove one of these for a year about 15 years ago. The education/degree requirement was in place then. She is smart, fun, energetic, and understands PR. She got to see a lot of the US, was paid well, and had fun. She traveled with a team for safety.

I’m sure many people will look into the truck driver positions for Walmart.
My youngest daughter has been driving a big rig for a number of years now. Her pay is based on total mileage, the number of drops and pickups she has for that trip, and her destinations. She always takes a load out, and brings a load back, and is paid for all of her mileage.
She does not touch her loads; no loading, no unloading, but she is responsible for seeing that warehouse workers load the product correctly. If she’s picking up a total of 15 pallets of potatoes from 3 different warehouses, the warehouse loader at each location has to load their product in a certain way, which figures into her legal traveling weight, monitored by DOT.
I heard Walmart may be offering drivers 89 cents a mile, which is very good if that number applies to total trip miles. However, if the contract wording says 89 cents a mile only applies to a drivers “loaded” miles, then the driver gets no pay for driving to their pickup location with an empty truck; they only get paid for the trip back to their delivery location.
The “great” benefits we will hear about in relation to this job will be determined by what’s in writing, and the experience of the driver.

No, I wouldn't work for OM. I spent 40 years working for a huge corporation. 30 years were great and then the company went public and it became a stereotypical big business that no longer cared about its employees. It would take a lot more money to get me to work for a large corporation again.

With all the worrisome things, in this world, spelling Mayer, with an e,( Meyer) doesn't even show up ,on my radar screen
I save that, for things ,that really matter in my life ,and there are plenty.
