I went to Rio many, many years ago. Had NO problems at all. Rio is one of the most beautiful places I've seen and one of my favorite places to vacation. The people were GREAT, the hotel was a 5 star, the food was EXCELLENT, and the service in the restaurants was STELLAR. I would go now and take proper precautions.

I'm only guessing that our views from home, watching the events on TV, are probably more relaxing (for many/some of us).

I won a trip to the 1984 Olympics to Los Angeles through my employer, Transamerica. I was obviously much younger. But no I wouldn't go to Rio. Too many negatives that are already obvious and who knows what else could happen.

Absolutely!! We went to Atlanta to the 1996 Olympics, after the bombings. It was so much fun. They were still blaming the bombings on the wrong person. ...I'm not going to stop living for fear of dying. I could die walking to the mailbox box. So give me a free trip to Rio!!😀🎆🎇🎾🏃🏊💲🌞🌎
