Would you give a extra tip to someone who does not celebrate any holiday now??

I know it is SOP to tip your service providers (Nail techs, hairdessers, trash people etc.) at this time of the year to give them a little extra to spend. My Nail tech is from Viet Nam. I asked him if he celebrates any holiday at this time of the year and he said No. THey do have a celebration that varies in time based on the lunar calender. He thinks it is in Feb. THey do not celebrate by giving gifts either to each other or to the children. So, is it appropriate to give him a extra tip just because we celebrate Christmas???
