Re: Would you complain about this?

Some of the suggestions have said to nicely approach her, but over the course of the years reading these boards, it seems even a nice approach can make people angry and things get even worse. I'd be inclined to go the route others have suggested and bring it to the attention of the management.

Re: Would you complain about this?

Maybe management could send out a notice to all tenants saying there seems to be a noise issue with "some units" and ask for feedback. If the new neighbor is at fault, she may take the hint and quiet down without having been signaled out specifically or accused by any one person.

We've had parking issues relating to one or two particular people at our condo development and used this tactic rather than approaching them. With one exception, they took the hint. The one who didn't, then got a personal letter threatening fines.

When the carpenter starts banging, call your landlord and tell them to come over immediately!! Let them listen to it. I would have went over there a long time ago and it would not have been pretty....

Ford1224, My first move would be to try to talk with this neighbor to see what's up! No way I would put up with banging on a common wall on any type of consistent basis. My next move, if necessary, would be up to this neighbors response?,

This gave me a good laugh and anything is possible.

If you do go over there, be friendly and don't forget the cookies (or a bottle of scotch)

a rocking chair 24 / 7? I'd definitely say something to her. If there is no change, I would tell whomever is in charge. That would make me crazy.

Re: Would you complain about this?

Ford, if and when you find out what is causing the noise please come back and tell us. I know I'm curious and I think everyone else here would like to know what is causing it. I think a polite knock on the neighbor's door is in order. I'm sure if your neighbor knew she was disturbing you she would fix the problem with no hurt feelings. Good luck.
