Re: Would you complain about this?

OMG. I'm just reading this thread, Ford. What a mess. Are potential residents interviewed or checked in some way whether they are capable of living on their own okay?

Okay Ford but if that mirror of yours comes off the wall you get the police there fast. This is just enough of her carrying on already.

I know I was, and I was one of the first few tenants after the building was completed. Maybe they have gotten lazy. I haven't talked to any of the other tenants about this since it started happening, but it's obvious that at least the tenant on the other side of her was the one who complained because it wasn't me.

Still no update. Maybe they have to get a court order, and that would not be today.

My mirror is one of my most precious possessions. It is a round, heavy mirror, the wood frame quite thick and ornate. It was quite expensive, but I fell it love with it years ago and in those days I could afford to buy something high end once in a while. It was literally swinging back and forth on the wall, her pounding was that hard.

I haven't heard anything in a couple of hours. Maybe they called her or even visited her by now. This time she would know it was me unless she did the very same thing on the other wall of her apartment also. I wish I knew that tenant's phone number. I would call her.

Re: Would you complain about this?

This past week, beginning day after Christmas, my upstairs neighbor began banging on her floor, my ceiling. Eight hours a day. Something just didn't sound right about what was going on because the noise was more than just annoying, it was absolutely deafening. I was expecting people over, so I went upstairs to find out what what it was and how long it might last. If it was legitimate reno, I'd tell my visitors not to bother coming over.

Went upstairs to find the new tenant hammering the base floor tiles, which contain asbestos. Obviously, she and her male friend were not professional contractors, and were not doing proper abatement.

I immediately went to Management to tell them what was going on and they immediately put a stop to it. It's been quiet for 3 days now as Management has locked the door until the new tenants get a professional contractor.

But just think of the possible harm this has done to neighbors. How did they dispose of the asbestos tiles? Down the garbage chute?

My family rolls their eyes at me because I tend to get involved instead of looking away. They're always telling me to MMOB. Sometimes it's important, as in this case, to get very involved.

If your Management doesn't intervene promptly, Ford, I'd get the police over pronto. Someone needs to see, firsthand, what this woman has been doing in her apartment.

Gosh Ford, this is a horrible situation.

Next time your daughters are over, have them reach out to several of the other "nice" neighbors to exchange emergency contact information You are right, you need to have at least one of their phone numbers.

Well you sure have something to remember of this Christmas experience to stash away in your memory drawer to look back on how 2014 ended and 2015 started.

You can say that again. Still haven't heard back from Management on what they are doing about this. I hope they are not just blowing it off. I kinda doubt that, since there have been complaints and warnings already. This is just not normal.

Re: Would you complain about this?

That hammering could have echoed all over the building any one could have complained. You can bet I would have and I would also have been over and asking her were in the he-- is she trying to pound her way to? I would have told her if you trying to see what is in my home for heavens sake knock on the door I will let you in, you don't need to pound you way in. You know Ford I am feeling bad for you. This kind of stuff you don't need or deserve.
