DH and I have a police scanner and had it on last night. A call came in to a dispatcher who called out police to a home because a guy claimed that he woke up to find a note on his chest that said there were people in his house and they were going to kill his daughter.

He went next door to a neighbor's house and the police were called. The police entered the home and there were no "people" in the house, no note has been located but they did find a girl unresponsive in her bed. At that point they went to radio silence and nothing else was said about this incident. Because it happened in the very early morning hours, there is nothing in our newspaper about this.

DH and I both happened to hear this and I told him the story was rather odd because what parent would walk out of that house and leave their child in that situation? I know the street the house is on and the houses are not large homes. Most of them are bungalow styles so I can't even figure out how the guy thought he would get out of the house without these supposed people catching him, unless he went out the bedroom window.

I don't have children but I cannot imagine as a parent that this would take place. I would think a parent would bust into the child's room, even if you went to try and find some type of weapon of some sort first.

Who would walk out of their home and leave a child behind to possibly get hurt?
