Re: Would You Go On a Space Flight?

No.  As much as it would be fascinating to explore the universe, I would freak being enclosed with no way out.

NO!!!  There is absolutely no point to it!  Anyone wanting to see the view can watch videos taken by real space travel!  What a waste of money.  While it is those rich men's to spend on what they choose, there are many humanitarian things those really rich could do to improve life here!

No, I have never been on an airplane. Been on a helicopter over Niagra Falls, and a medical trip to Pittsburgh Hospital.

And how do you know that they don't do both? And how do you know that the technology that they've developed while pursuing their space flight goals won't provide benefits here on earth?

Jeff Bezos donated $200 million in just one intiative after he returned from his space flight. According to Forbes, his known charitable gifts total more than $13 billion.

Sir Richard Branson has made a pledge to donate half of his nearly $6 billion fortune to charity.

In the first four months of 2021, Elon Musk has donated $150 million to charity.

All of this is publicly available information.

We can only choose what we do with our money. What other people do with what they've earned is up to them. The animosity and bitterness on these boards towards people who are successful, as well as the continual criticism of them is mind boggling.

No,  thus the reason I do not even fly in planes EVER.

Have a fear of being enclosed in a capsule...no way out.... like the feeling of  being buried alive.

If I were 40 years younger and had no family, I think I would--not to Mars but up in space for 3 days---think it would be incredible---

@FrostyBabe1 - Well said!  I'm amazed by how some people decide what others can do (and have done) with their money.  The judgements about whether it benefits anyone are incredible.
