I had to google him also as I only watched Sanford & Son a couple of times and never watched Barney Miller. I wouldn't exactly call him handsome, IMHO!!!

Thank you for posting that picture @Desertdi . Didn't know who the OP was talking about until I saw the pic.
He was a talented actor. I would consider him cute.

I never thought of hin as handsome but I thought he was such a good actor. I remember him on Murder She Wrote.
For me, I am attracted to a guy's character no matter what they look like.
But for me I had a huge crush on Richard Chamberlain yes for how handsome but also his character on Dr Kildare.
Also Tyler Perry who I think is very handsome but I love him for all he does and the kind of person that at least all I've read about him. He seems like such a good person and that is what is so attractive.
And there's Denzel Washington too![]()

Okay....uh, knock that off, quin. Now. What I want to know is...
Do you guys remember Julio from Sanford and Son?
Well, I think he's the most handsome man that ever walked the earth.
He was born in NY and his accent was fake! He was raised around Latino people so he probably gained a good fake accent throught that. He died a few years ago and was way older than me.....he moved to California to further his career when he was young.
So.............
What do you guys think? I say.....he will always be my dream man.
Gregory Sierra was Puerto Rican and lived in Spanish Harlem so he could go back and forth with his speech! NOTHING FAKE ABOUT IT!
BTW, he was sexy but not handsome in my opinion.

Gregory Sierra. . . I didn't watch Sanford and Son until it was in reruns, but he was brilliant also in Barney Miller. Wonderful actor--he had that expressive face of the gifted actor.
I am of an older generation, and my first crush was on Roger Smith (later Ann-Margret's husband). I got a postcard back after a fan letter to Warner Brothers--their detective series "77 Sunset Strip".

I loved the show Sanford and Son lol. I didn't find him so attractive as a young man, but I agree with the other posters who believe he was more handsome as he got older.

Fess Parker (Daniel Boone), Robert Fuller (Emergency), Howie Mandel (St. Elsewhere) were the ones I enjoyed looking at weekly.

He didn't last long on Miami Vice as the Chief, got killed off pretty quickly.
I think replacing him with Olmos was a good idea.
