I guess workplace politics has always been and always will be. I sometimes feel like people think I'm a "fool" for arriving at work with the intention of doing a good job.
The situations I have seen apply to my DH (who is now retired from it all), myself and my DD. Please explain.
Why is someone rewarded and showered with praise (or so it appears) for not doing a good job, but instead, being more interested in their advancement? Is this just commonplace and I'm the fool? Apparently.
So, while others are wasting time, making office "political" ties, drinking coffee and laughing, I'm working my you-know-what off. This type has been put "in charge" of evaluating my work. I consider this person inexperienced, politically with the "in" crowd, and not knowledgable enough to evaluate my work. This person also has no intention of finding out anything about my field of expertise.
I would also like to know a source for come-backs when people use calculated remarks to belittle. I'd like to put them in their place in a firm, but straight-forward matter. What a workplace ethic! I would advise young people to spend their time getting extra degrees and shirk their workplace responsibilites; also to make "political" ties with the right people... and that is the truth of success from this poster's point of view. Please respond.
