People using steroids scares me more. But I've never delt with either one.

This is JMO.
I think if states are getting revenue from the taxation of the sales and the money can help the states, then that is a plus. It is highly regulated in those states.
If mj can help those in pain or suffering from seizure disorders then that is a plus.
I just read an article in Las Vegas where one of the legalized stores collected donations from its customers for the local food bank and they collected 156,000 pounds of food to go to Three Square, then that is a good thing.
I try to research what I do not know and understand or may not agree with. I try to weigh the pros and cons.
If I do not want to partake in something I do not.
I think we cannot keep going backwards, I do not see that as helpful. If there is one thing I have learned is The only thing constant is change. And if good things can come out of that than I am for that.

The thing with driving and smoking. You could smoke 3 weeks ago and a blood test would still show thc.

That didn't answer the question. If pot had no affect then why did they bother using it? Answer: It did, and they used it to get high.
I'm sure many wonderful, intelligent, successful people use recreational mj, but they don't do it because they think they look cool holding a joint.
@SusieQ_2, exactly. They all use it for a reason. I know many, many guys who use pot on a regular, daily basis. They like the way they feel when they use it.
If they stop getting that feeling because they get immune from using pot so much, they smoke more.

My son has scripts for MMJ but there is no place to get them filled in the state we live. He takes large amount of opiates; I carry medication on me plus every room in our house is stocked with medication in the event he OD's accidentally (it's happened twice in hospital so...yeah).
There are pros and cons to ALL medications and there will ALWAYS be those who abuse the drug AND the system. I wish there were far stiffer penalties regarding alcohol use but that will NEVER happen.
I'm at the point in my life where it's "you do you and I'll do me". My concern is for my son and everyone else can simply...exist.

LOL. And you think workers haven't been coming to work stoned all these years before legalization? it shouldn't happen with alcohol or MJ, but it does.

Oh please. It's already happening and has been for decades.

I find it odd that so many have no problem with people working under the influence of anything, yet when they pick up a cell phone all **** breaks loose.

I have no problem with those that use it. Stay home and stay off the roads, or face a DUI charge if you're pulled over because of your driving.
At work, there are places that do random drug testing. If you have to take a drug test before employment, you risk not getting hired. Also, if the job is federal the use of the drug will still be illegal even on your own time. You risk getting terminated. Also, each company can set it's own rules for drug use. If they say it's not allowed, and you test positive, they can terminate you. Get in an accident at work it's usually an automatic drug test. Test positive, again you could very well lose your job.

I imagine those who would get high for working began getting high a long time ago, at/before/during work.
As many others have said, it's similar to drinking. People have been drinking, and getting high, for as long as we know. More people will do this on their own time, at home, just like before. These laws don't change who people are.
