Back in March, (I think) my dh started working from home. As long as we aren't having internet problems, there has been no trouble. Just a few days he had to go in to work.
The plan was that his employer was going to re evaluate the Covid situation in September and they were going to proceed accordingly.
Well, this past Thursday, he got an email saying now he is working at home till sometime in January.
I am thrilled he will be home, just praying that this doesnt' mean the powers that be think Covid is going to get a lot worse here.
Anyone else been told they will be home for another 5 or months?

My husband is a college professor and working from home this year. He is disappointed as he feels the students will suffer in their education. He loves his home office but will miss the interaction.
One of my sisters husband's is a builder and she says people buying new homes want a office over a formal dining room now.

@RhondaRena I am glad to hear that people are looking for homes with an office since our home came with one. We are considering downsizing and I was really worried about trying to sell even within the next year or two.

My sister was told in March to work from home till probably June 1st. Then in early May they said work from home till mid July.
She got an email last week that said work from home till "at least" January.

My daughter has been back in the office since 7/13. She worked from home for 4 months and loved it.
She has an hour commute each way. Working from home saved a lot of gas money. No lunches out and saved on clothes. Instead of getting home at 6 at night or later if a lot of traffic, She came downstairs at 5:01 and was done.
She misses it.

The only people returning to the office are those who have duties that cannot be performed at home. They will be required to into the office once a week or once a month. Everyone else is working from home full time.

@happycat Thankfully for both of us, my DH is back at the office full time!

I think that is wonderful! A smart move.
I live in Florida and only worked from home for two months. I have not felt safe going to work a single day since going back and the numbers here keep increasing. I don’t know why we were told to go back to the office (well, the governor is of the opinion all is well in Florida) when we can work as well and be safer at home.
All of the scientific experts state things are going to get a lot worse everywhere. Our country is not doing anything to help make things better. At this rate, I would be surprised if your DH doesn’t get another extension to continue working from home even after January.

I started working from home last March. My work started out taking it week by week. Since June, it seems to be on a month by month basis. They have not announced when we can go back. The number of COVID cases in my city as well as county are so high and getting higher. So I think we will still work from home for a long time.
