Working With The Kids Home/Homeschooling.

God love all the parents either still working outside the home, or working from home, and having to help the kids with online schooling.

My sister's eldest is a pediatric in home nurse.  Her DH is still working, but is expecting to be laid off.

My niece is helping her 13 and 14 yr. old sons with their school work,  working  to make sure the 4 and 1/2 yr. old is ready of kindergarten in Sept. and has a 3 (going on 30) yr. old girl who thinks it's her business to be in everyone else's business.

She is also working as many 12 hr. shifts she can when DH is home to be with their kids. I have no idea when she sleeps.

The 3 yr. old talked to my sister yesterday and asked when my DS and BIl would come to her house.  Her final order to my sister was "Bring cake."

Kudos to all Moms and Dads doing the same around the country.

My kids start today with on line school, thank goodness they're in high school so not much for me to do but take attendance, I feel for the parents of younger kids.

If both parents can still work and daycares closed, what happens to younger kids who cannot be left home alone?

Re: Working With The Kids Home/Homeschooling.

Shanus, great question. Grandson's daycare closed and as grandparents, we stepped in. He doesn't go into stores or visit. He's tucked away safely at his house or mine. Hubs is retired and I'm paid - working from home with projects only so it's ebb and flow for me. But what about single parents, essentials who can still work, with no relatives close by to step in? AND how do young students get their online work done? My heart goes out to all parents who are juggling and worrying.
