Ew, cigars.
Nasty things.

I feel bad for all the restaurants in NJ that were getting ready for limited indoor dining to begin on Thursday and were told yesterday that he changed his mind.
Lots of money spent on new safety and sanitation guidelines, phone calls made to have workers come back, food orders placed that might have been delivered already or couldn't be cancelled.

Provided she was working on the books, she should be able to collect unemployment income and the last month (July) of the $600 weekly bonus.
I do not know what a cigar bar is and have no idea what skills or attributes the work requires, but I do think that a lot of the jobs that were funded by the gravy of people with a lot of disposable income that's disappeared are gone forever. Those people need to be retrained. We need a works program to overhaul our infrastructure, and if they're up to it physically, they can perform the labor on our water delivery system, bridges, etc. that's sorely needed.
I totally agree and have seen many commentaries advocating this as well, @noodleann

PUPPY LIPS,
I sincerely hope you find a new way to have an income if your business can no longer survive.
Older than dirt, as they say, I have never experienced anything like what is going on now in my entire life. Nothing compares to this tsunami of destruction of people and their livelihood, not to mention the economy, in general.

This pandemic should be a wake-up call for restaurant and food service workers. They have been spoiled by excessively high wages, meaning they earn more than their education and skills should demand. Restaurant work is traditionally unstable, they come and go with regularity. Workers in the industry should now be aware that they need to prepare themselves for more stable, meaningful careers in occupations that will probably require formal education and training.

@Kachina624, are you referring to management? Because otherwise, employees do not get excessively high wages.

@suzyQ3 I consider $15+/hr for a fast food worker or more (tips) for a restaurant worker to be more than their skill level, education and level of responsibility would dictate. That cigar bar worker was a prime example.

Good grief.

@QueenDanceALot Indeed that is my opinion. They are paid more than they're worth.
