I used to go a couple of times a year.  I'm about 45 mins south in Westchester County.  I don't think I've been there since the latest addition.  Used to go alot when Judith Ripka had a store.  Also the Chico's Outlet, which moved down the street.  I used to get decent prices on LeSport Sac.

I remember when the Ugg outlet store opened.  The Uggs were about $1 lower than the regular department store prices.

I just looked up the list of stores - wow, they've really added alot.

We usually go there if we go up to a touristy place and it's a stop on the way back,  there are not many real bargains, but it's fun to walk around and get lunch.

The food situation has been improved quite a bit,

Last time we were there was a good sale at the Lauder outlet

but it's crawling with tourists, lines to get into Coach, Spade, Prade Burch etc

@I am still oxox-----a few days ago the front page of the local Rockland County paper had an article about the possible re-opening of The Red Apple Rest. It would be a natural given the opening of the casino in Monticello. We used to go there all the time and, when we wanted fancy, The Duck Cedar Inn......great memories.

ETA---BTW...the REAL iconic Red Apple was pretty much finished by the mid 1980s. When it was sold, it quickly degraded to a shadow of its former self.

I never go hoping or expecting to get a bargain, I sort of know what prices are and if there is something good then I will buy it.

Not sure if I said upthread, last time it was additional 40% off at Lauder outlet, so right away I am interested.  BTW they give 30% off on LaMer

Re: Woodbury Common Outlet

[ Edited ]

I enjoyed reading everyone's posts because I lived and worked very close to the woodbury commons for 30 years. Orange County, NY will always be my favorite place on earth. I have many memories of going to the WC. It started out very small.

Hello, haven't read all the replies.

I go to Woodbury often.  They just finished a MASSIVE renovation and adding stores and parking. Put on your walking shoes and get there BEFORE OPENING...I went one day about 45-min after it opened and got the last squeezed in spot. They have a parking garage and shuttle but I know my way around enough that I would rather walk the grounds and park in the open.

They do have Applebees on site...but the Food Court is so overpriced. McDonalds is outrageous and no $ menu LOL.

I am not sure where you are driving from -if you are spending the night in the area.  It is something that will take an entire day and then some.

Your first time will be an eye opening experience. You will see the majority of people pulling rolling suitcases as they come in from other countries with Tour Groups and are on the hundreds of buses that go daily.  It is a very popular place mostly populated by out of town people and no locals. The majority of people are Asian and I was talking to couple one day and they came twice a year with a tour group - as they buy for their entire family with the exchange rate and prices in their home country it is well worth the trip. Obviously they are from families of wealth.

It has every outlet store you can think of (with the exception of the Q lol) it is run by the Simons Group - many of the outlets are Tanger Outlets.

Just clearing up a few things. It is not that far from NYC. About an hour or so by bus up the Thruway off Exit 16 right there.

It is not about "100" stores it has well OVER 225 stores and it is literally set up like a village. They just did a huge expansion and renovation. I was just there.  Many stores do have 'made for outlet' items but many also have items sent from retail stores.  You have the Market Place where the food court is and each entrance to the Market Place goes into a Section of the Outlets each  Section is named after locations in NYS. It is not just any ole mall. It is a unique experience if you have never been. I have been to many outlets - mostly Tanger and they can't even match Woodbury.  The Carolina outlets in NC is owned by the same company and has less than 100 stores when I was there last.
