I live 15 mins from it I never go.  Prices aren't that great .  Rather shop somewhere else. If you go enjoy and Happy Birthday.

@jackthebear------the daughter of the original owner/founder wrote a book a few years ago with pictures. It is really a nice read about the "old" days.

STOP AT THE RED APPLE REST....THE RESTAURANT ON ROUTE 17

My DH started his career in the Borsht Belt and many times I would meet him at the Red Apple for a meal when he got a break. 

I've not been up 17 that far in a few years. There was/is a "junk/antique" shop, near there,that was only open on Saturdays, so I would go up looking for treasures and a drive through Harriman. And at that time, the building didn't look reparable.

Until I was about 16 my family spent every summer at a bungalow colony in the Catskills. My dad would come up every weekend. On the way up for the summer and home at the end of summer, we would always stop at the Red Apple Rest. What memories!!!
