So I have been wondering why people buy clothing and jewelry from shopping channels?

Why  not just shop in real stores?

Im not bashing anyone. I am just asking a question.

With shipping costs for returns no way would I be buying these from any shopping channel.

Personally? Because that specific brand/item is not available anywhere else.

Example: I love David Yurman and John Hardy items; have for years. There was a time when I could purchase multiple pieces each season. Then, things happen. I discovered JAI here and Bali at HSN and the quality and similarity to the designer lines are....amazing (and with good reason, lol). They're only available, however, from these shopping channels. So, when it's a good deal, I purchase and add to my collection.

Years ago, the gold and silver presented on QVC supposedly was purchased in bulk, and you really did get better than store prices.

Also, you had access to some of the better designers, like Nolan Miller!

I rarely purchase anything now, but still wear the pieces I got from QVC.

Clothing? Not so much for me - years ago or presently.

Many people have mobility issues that makes getting around and shopping difficult.

Others live in very rural areas where there isn't a lot of variety in stores to shop at.

I'm sure there are many other 'reasons'.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Before asking these types of questions, look at yourself and recognize that the assumptions you are making about others are not their reality as much as you think they would be.

People live in very different places with different access, personal mobility, time constraints, etc. Besides, if we all did the same thing, how boring a world or forum would this be?

With all respect @FlowerBear—-Surely you can imagine circumstances in which people would shop here.  Enough people have reasons to shop here to sustain two 24 hour shopping channels.   What brought you here?

I find better quality at qvc despite all the comments otherwise from posters about sizing issues etc.  Same sizing  issues in stores.  quality of material is better in the brands I buy at qvc than is what in the stores unless yoi go high end.  I have cataloged shopped for many years so I am used to paying shipping.  Not a problem for me.  I an happy with what i purchase from qvc and other sources than stores.  In the stores the items offered don't change much once the season's clothes are in and there is constant new each program at the Q.

I've wondered the same about those who still waste time shopping at "real stores" (whatever that means).  I can go online and in a few minutes I have done my shopping for whatever I want and need.  I have access to so many more brands that suit my style and can get clothing that I probably won't see others wearing

and can actually watch on tv or online videos plus get all the details which while you can see,  touch and try on (which I never did then had to make a trip back to exchange or return)  at a "real store"... I don't have to get dressed to go out,  weather never an issue waste gas, park, walk to stores, don't have to put up with rude people, looking for a clerk, etc.  How much extra time is that compared to a few clicks after seeing what I want on tv or online.  I don't have to carry packages to the car and from the car to my home, possibly forgetting some along the way when I stop to eat, look at things, etc.   There is also the extra money I always spent on spur of the moment purchases, food (since I am out I might as have something positive for my efforts) etc.  I can't really find anything beneficial by going to so called "real stores"!  I just don't like the whole experience when I can just sit home (in my underwear if I want) and order and wait for delivery!  Shipping costs are nothing compared to gas, wear and tear on vehicle, buying spur of the moment, food, snacks I always bought and the biggest plus is no waste of my time!!  I have better things to do than shop.  I also rarely  have to return or exchange anything since once I find my size in certain brands I can get a great fit nearly always.

I happen to love qvc shopping--actually  online shopping in general. It's convenient and being high-anxiety & not a people person I like  being able to shop from the comfort of my home & not having to deal with annoying sales people in stores.

Well, I will speak for myself. I live in a rural area. Decent shopping is at least 45 minutes away. And even with that, I'd be hard pressed for find certain things that QVC  offers. Specifically speaking, Vionic shoes, and when the brick and mortar stores do carry them, half the time, the sizing is sparse and I'm out of luck anyway.

Online shopping and shopping channels just have more to offer.

That being said, I haven't had near the luck with clothing as I have with the vionic shoes.

There are other items that qvc offers, that are just not offered locally where I live. That is why I order from them.
